definitely re-design them according to player proffesions and gender. with warrior armor, they cut off the regular armor at the elbow and look ridiculous. not to mention, all the chaos gloves look glitchy from certain viewing angles

The main problem is this or any other retroactive changing of an armor/weapon....

Many people bought chaos gloves because they like them the way they look now. Changing them might risk making them look "worse" in some people's opinions who have already bought them. This will lead to people being very upset.

Simply put, if you like something, buy it. If you don't don't.
Please don't try to change something you don't own to make you like it.

Sorry but seeing "many" combinations of armor with chaos gloves, I'm going to have to disagree here. Many, if not most people bought chaos gloves to show off.

I bought mine to fit my idea of my mesmer's materialistic nature...figured hey i have the ectos, i'm not getting more obsidian armor in the near future, might as well have some fun with it. Bought the gloves on the ONLY profession in my mind that deserves chaos gloves because they're fugly on everything else.

Make them match the general fitting and shape of the profession's standard gear. Make these eotn gloves actually match up with the chestpieces for that profession.

If they change the look of chaos gloves, then others will complain about loosing their super-looking gloves.

There's a reason why people bought it. And the reason is that they like how it looks.

The chaos gloves are boring and are only to show off. If Anet improves the design, players who already bought it can trade their old gloves for the new ones if they wish to.

75 ecto to blow in one spot for most players of GW is a lot. Spending all day farming UW and spamming in Kamadan doesn't make you a good player, and that's pretty much the most reliable way of getting said 75 ectos to blow on one set of gloves.

My point was made of 2 separate points really.

1) If you think that someone who has 75 ecto is rich, you are clueless. There are people who I know who have thousands of ecto, enough said.

2) If you are decent at pvp, you'll have more than 75 ecto. Thus the "bad" comment. Hell, you can get 50 ecto a month in 5 min if you read the predictions threads on this very forum and make decent predictions.

And to answer your post, I do neither of the things which you mention. My money comes in from predictions, farming event drops, and buying at opportunity in towns. None of these are hard to do, or complicated in the slightest.

If you are smarter than your average player, then go ahead and do UWSC or sit and spam in kamadan. Tried both, don't really care for either.

If you are incapable of making money to buy chaos gloves with things the way they are, you are simply stupid and/or bad at playing the game.

Wouldn't be bad to have different chaos gloves, in my opinion. It's the reason why I never bought it- being the same and doesn't really go with other armors for male characters.

I suggest glowing tattoos on monks & Necromancers, and for warriors a gauntlet similar to "Rastigan the Eternal"

To some people 75 ecto is a lot, so saying they're clueless isn't necessary. It depends on the person - what they think is a lot or not. Perhaps they are unaware of ways and means to get "rich." It would help more if they were pointed toward the right path than calling them bad and clueless. That kind of mentality is pretty sad, imo, and detracts from the game.

But anyway, I don't see a problem with them how they are now.

I'm pretty sure Blackknight was just meaning that if you think that 75e makes you uber-rich than you don't know about people who have thousands of ecto. And he also said a few ways that you could get richer. Predicting in the tournaments can get you some money. It doesn't take much to do it either. Which I agree with him, I have never considered myself uber rich yet I have Chaos gloves. It is like anything else nice in the game, if you really want it it will take a little time to get it. If you can't afford them than you just can't get them, don't say that Anet should make them cheaper just for you. (And Shadowhaze, I'm not attacking you with what I said above. Some other people had mentioned making them cheaper earlier.)

But back to the main point, yes I think they should redesign the gloves. I have a set for my monk and I don't really care how they look right now. Maybe if they didn't go so far up the arm then they would be a bit better.

The gloves are already designed for the other profs , but they look best on mesmers because they are the only class whose hand/arm armor is at their wrist and not higher. It would be harder to do that for the other profs since all their armor need to be changed.

How would redesigning the gloves prevent them from becoming 'boring after a while'? The problem is they aren't special anymore, because nearly every third person you see is wearing them. Even if every profession and gender gets a different version, it would still be the single most piece of armor you will encounter on other players.

LOL...I like that!

I put them on my Male Mes with Black Vabbian Armor and he does look cool and not too gaudy like some professions. I have them on my Female Derv and Female Ele only because of their white armor, anything else and I know they'll look bad. Alot of characters in the game with chaos gloves look really bad, like driving a an old beatup rusted out Cadillac with a 5k set of spinners on it. Before spending the money try to visualize what your character is going to look like before hand and not be disappointed, this is expensive stuff.

On the topic: Anet won't change the appearance of an existing in game items just coz someone feels they are boring after a while. Period.

If they change anything it's just because of either clipping issues or overpowered feature. Period.
